HOW CUSTOMIZABLE IS MY AWNING OR SUN SHADE PROJECT?
Waagmeester Awnings & Sun Shades can accommodate almost anything. We build every custom awning to suit your home or business. This means that we can create custom awnings in any color shape and size. We have the capacity to create anything that you can conceive and we will work with you to create the perfect look for your home or business.
IF I PURCHASE AN AWNING OR SUN SHADE FROM YOU, HOW WILL IT HOLD UP TO NORTHWEST WEATHER?
If kept clean, the water repellent fabrics that we use will last a very long time. We custom build the commercial grade aluminum frames to suit each project. We use only the best materials in our construction from the top manufacturers in the fabric industry.
HOW WELL DO THE MATERIALS YOU USE HOLD UP TO MOLD AND MILDEW?
The fabrics that we use are resistant naturally to the growth of either of these. We do recommend that you brush off your sun shade or awning when debris gets on it to make it last that much better longer.
HOW DOES THE SUN EFFECT THE SUN SHADES AND AWNINGS YOU CREATE?
The pigment that are used in the sun shades are very saturated and stable even with high UV saturation. What makes the fabrics we use so successful is that the coloration is a property of material itself, as opposed to dyes. This means the colors won’t fade or come out over the time.
DOES WAAGMEESTER OFFER INSTALLATION OF THE AWNINGS AND SUN SHADES YOU DESIGN AND FABRICATE?
Absolutely. We offer installation of the awnings and sun shades we create for our customers. We also have a division that creates boat tops and boat sales, a division that creates industrial canvas products, as well as just about anything that you can conceive. WHAT CAN I USE TO CLEAN MY AWNING OR SUN SHADE?
Many of the canvas products that we use can be cleaned using a diluted chlorine bleach solution. We use materials that can handle cleaning, but if kept free of fallen materials they require minimal attention.
HOW MUCH UV PROTECTION DO SUN SHADES PROVIDE?
Most of our products for sun protection use the best in the industry materials that are recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation with their Seal of Recommendation.
DO YOU ONLY WORK WITH CANVAS PROJECTS?
We can work with virtually any materials. Just a few of those are Nylon, acrylic fabrics, polyester, cotton ducks, leather, high density polyethylene, both designer and commercial window shade fabrics, upholstery fabrics, polyurethane, polyester, and many more. We have the largest piece of stitching equipment in the country which makes us the natural choice for even the most difficult projects.
DO YOU CUT YOUR MATERIALS BY HAND?
We use a state of the art piece of equipment that is far more accurate than a human hand and much faster which means that we save you money. It significantly cuts down on the labor and we can pass those savings on to you.
AM I ABLE TO COME IN AND TALK TO A MEMBER OF THE WAAGMEESTER TEAM IN PERSON?
Yes, we are a family run business that has been in the Portland metro area since the 1940’s. We’ve recently moved to Wilsonville and would enjoy having you stop into our new facility so we can discuss your project.
